A local non-profit group is forming a community coalition to fight the effects of methamphetamines, it was revealed during todays meeting of the Rome Public Safety Committee. The goal of the Community Coalition on Meth will be to mobilize the community to fight the meth epidemic in our country, according to Nancy Griffin of Floyd Against Drugs (FAD).
At this mornings meeting, City Manager John Bennett said the city might be able to offer the new coalition an office in the Law Enforcement Center.
The coalition hopes to have a full-time coordinator in place with a focus helping and educating families affected by this drug.
