Jamie Powell and Joseph Hennon, both of Rome, were married at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at West Rome Christian Church.
The bride is the daughter of Kenneth Powell, Joy Stewart and the late Keith Stewart.
The groom is the son of Robin Hennon and the late James Hennon.
Lamar Long performed the double-ring ceremony. A brass unity candle arrangement and a memory table decorated with white and pink liliums accented the altar. Memory candles were lit in honor of the brides stepfather and the grooms father.
A program of wedding music was provided by Dawn Knowles, aunt of the bride. Selections included Unchained Melody, Maid Marion at the Waterfall from Robin Hood, Canon in D and Prince of Denmark.
Program attendants were Teresa Williams, aunt of the bride, Amanda Powell, sister-in-law of the bride, and Dustin Powell, brother of the bride.
Matt Knowles, uncle of the bride, filmed the wedding, and Gina Nicholson, cousin of the groom, was photographer.
Shannon Stahl, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Rachel Stewart, stepsister of the bride, was maid of honor. They wore navy silk, calf-length dresses and carried bouquets of rose-stained liliums and white Calla lilies.
Alana Hennon, daughter of the bride and groom, and Jamison Powell and Madison Powell, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. They wore ivory calf-length dresses accented by ivory roses and carried baskets of white rose petals.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, chose a white short-sleeved, formal gown accented by pearls and sequins with a chapel-length train, also accented by pearls and sequins. She wore a crystal and pearl hairpiece and veil and her mothers pearl necklace, bracelet and earrings. She carried a bouquet of white liliums and rose-stained Calla lilies, as well as her great-grandmothers handkerchief.
James Hennon, brother of the groom, was best man. Chris Stanley, cousin of the bride, was groomsman.
The mother of the bride wore a cream-colored blouse and calf-length skirt accented by gold stitching. The mother of the groom wore a gold blouse and cream calf-length skirt. They wore corsages of pink-stained lilies and white roses with pearl accents. The grandmothers wore corsages of pink-stained lilies and white roses.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church. Refreshments included the brides two-tier round cake, trimmed with navy ribbon and handmade accents. The two-tier, heart-shaped peanut butter grooms cake was made by his mother. The mother of the bride and Kelsey Powell, niece of the bride, coordinated the reception. Phoenix provided the music. Reception attendants were Savannah Rickman, Leigh Ann Stahl, Georgia Stahl and Kelsey Powell, all nieces of the bride, and Ashley Dixon and Alyssia Dixon, cousins of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the church the evening before the wedding.
Other pre-nuptial parties included a bachelorette party hosted by the brides coworkers at Harbin Clinic Pediatrics in Cartersville; a bachelor party hosted by the grooms brother and cousin; and a wedding shower hosted by Amanda Powell, sister-in-law of the bride, and Dawn Knowles, aunt of the bride.
Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Rome.
