Tickets are now on sale for the 42nd annual Atlanta Steepelchase, which will be held April 14 at Kingston Downs near Rome.
General admission/parking tickets cost $30. Special group packages are also available. They can be purchased at Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.atlantasteeplechase.org or by calling 404-249-6400 or 404-237-7436.
Tickets should be available soon at the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau and Harvest Moon Cafe, Steeplechase officials said today.
The race, marking its 11th running at Kingston Downs off U.S. 411 east of Rome, will benefit the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation and the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
Also, souvenir sales will benefit the Coosa Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The Steeplechase has raised an average of $120,000 a year for its beneficiary in recent years, organizers said.
The annual equestrian competition routinely attracts about 20,000 people. The College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, graduates about 90 professionals each year.
Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping chronically and seriously ill children and their families through various in-hospital and out-patient programs.
The foundation’s Atlanta chapter, created in 1989, offers social and educational programs in more than 25 hospitals, eight of which are pediatric, and 20 additional agencies throughout Georgia.
