Minyuan Wofford Hayes and Charles Lewis Wright Sr. were married at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Kingdom Church International.
The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L. Wofford of Rome. The groom is the son of Emory Wright of Calhoun and the late Lillie Belle Wright.
Rondie Goode performed the double-ring ceremony. The church was decorated with magnolia and ferns. The family pews were decorated with white satin bows. The arch was decorated with white lights, English ivy, magnolia and white tulle lace. A wedding bell completed the setting. The altar was flanked with two seven-branch candelabras decorated with magnolia, English ivy and white tulle. The unity candle was on a three-branch candelabra entwined with English ivy and white tulle. Three memory candles were lit in honor of the brides late parents and the grooms late mother.
Ryan Andrew Hayes and Charles Lewis Wright Jr., sons of the bride and groom, lit the candles before the ceremony.
Eva Wooten of Rome attended the bridal registry.
A program of wedding music was provided by organist Henry Coalson and vocalists Sarah Coalson and Henry Coalson. Selections included Wind Beneath My Wings, Flesh of My Flesh and The Wedding March.
Gail Goodgame of Rome was maid of honor. She wore a dark blue matte satin two-piece, tea-length dress with a round neckline and ivory lace on the jacket hemline. The skirt had a long split down the side.
Jessica Goode, also of Rome, was bridesmaid. She wore an ocean blue satin formal strapless gown designed with an asymmetrical side draping at the waist. The A-line skirt flowed into a full-length gown. Attendants carried bouquets of white water lilies, light blue babys breath and dark blue roses, tied with white tulle and iridescent ribbons.
Alexyeus Harris and Dominique Harris, both of Adairsville, granddaughters of the groom, were flower girls. They wore white tea-length dresses of chiffon overlaying matte satin with a white rosette at the waist, accented with satin ribbons that made a bow in the back of each dress. They wore iridescent ribbon in their hair and carried white lace baskets accented with pearls and filled with white rose petals.
The bride, given in marriage and escorted by her sons, Rhundy Stanley Hayes Jr. and Ryan Andrew Hayes, chose a formal three-piece suit of ivory Italian satin. The camisole top had iridescent beads and seed pearls along the top. The jacket had three-quarter-length sleeves. The jacket and skirt were trimmed in Italian lace and iridescent beads and seed pearls, as was the train. She wore a double-layer ivory veil embellished with seed pearls and iridescent beading and attached behind a row of ivory rosettes and Austrian crystals. She wore a black and white pearl necklace and earrings set, gifts from the groom, and carried a bouquet of white water lilies, light blue babys breath and dark blue roses tied with white tulle and blue iridescent bridal ribbons.
Kevin Wofford, brother of the bride, and Mose Sewal, both of Rome, were best men. Charles Lewis Wright Jr., son of the groom, was groomsman.
Caleb Goode of Rome was ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the churchs reception hall. Refreshments included a three-tier square bridal cake with butter cream icing, covered with white fondant and trimmed in dark blue and ocean blue ribbons. A set of kissing doves sat atop the cake with white babys breath surrounding them. The grooms two-tier chocolate cake was decorated with milk chocolate butter cream icing in a basketweave pattern and accented with strawberries.
The evening before the wedding, the sisters of the couple hosted a dinner at Piccadilly in Marietta.
Following a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., and the Bahamas, the couple resides in Rome.
