McFarland - Lotero wedding

Mary Lotero of Rome and Daniel McFarland of Canton were married at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Lakeside Trail at Red Top Mountain State Park in Cartersville.

The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. John Pollard of Rome.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam McFarland of Canton.

The Rev. John Moates of Silver Creek performed the wedding. The ceremony took place in front of the lakeside swing where the couple had their first date.

A program of wedding music included “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait, “From This Moment” by Shania Twain and Bryan White, “Keeper of the Stars” by Tracy Byrd and “The Wedding March.”

Jessica Lotero of Rome, daughter of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Myra McFarland of Canton, daughter of the groom, Bethsadia Byram of Woodstock, daughter of the groom, Jessica Hardeman of Monroe, daughter of the groom, and Taylor Hardeman of Monroe, granddaughter of the groom.

Adam McFarland of Canton, son of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Michael Lotero of Rome, son of the bride, Seth Bates of Cartersville, Ben Byram of Woodstock, son-in-law of the groom, and Danny Hardeman of Monroe, son-in-law of the groom.

Attandants wore burgundy tea-length dresses and carried ribbon-tied bouquets of roses, stargazer lilies and baby’s breath. The flower girl wore a white and burgundy dress accented with roses and carried a white basket filled with rose petals.

The brides’s gown was an ice pink silk and chiffon strapless, A-line dress with sequined bodice and matching sheer jacket. Her bouquet was a mixture of silk and live red roses, white Calla lilies and baby’s breath.

The mothers of the bride and groom were presented with corsages of red roses and baby’s breath.

Following the wedding, a reception was held in the Lakeside Ballroom of The Lodge at Red Top Mountain State Park. Refreshments included the bride’s three-tier cake of mable, white and chocolate flavors with white butter cream icing. The cake was adorned with cascading burgundy roses.

Barbara Griffith of Lindale and Rita Fraser of Rome were cake servers.

The evening before the wedding a rehearsal dinner was held at Red Lobster in Cartersville.

A pre-nuptial celebration was a surprise bridal shower hosted by the bride’s staff at Morningstar Treatment Services.

Out of town guests included the bride’s neices of Detroit, Mich., Robin Lee and Cristy Brown.

Following a wedding trip to Florida and a cruise to Mexico, the couple resides in Canton.
