The district convention of the Jehovah’s Witnesses to be held this month at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita will have the theme, “Keep on the Watch.”
“Keep on the Watch!” will be the theme of the district convention planned by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, and it will be held this month at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita.

The convention will begin at 9:20 a.m. on Friday, June 19, and will continue for three days.

“However, starting this weekend,” a spokesman said, “we will be launching a vigorous campaign to extend a personal invitation to everyone from Oklahoma City, Edmond and surrounding areas to attend the three-day event in Wichita.”

“We want all to hear the interesting discussions about the Bible’s description of what many refer to as the end of the world,” the spokesman added.

The theme of the convention, he said, is based on several passages of the Bible, including Matthew 24:42 and Mark 13:37.

In the latter passage, Jesus Christ instructed his followers to “keep on the watch.”

As the campaign to invite metropolitan area residents to attend the convention is pursued, Jehovah’s Witnesses will distribute illustrated invitations.

Locally, all of the area’s 32 congregations of the denomination will participate in the campaign.

The spokesman said about 16,000 are expected to attend the convention.

The district convention to be held in Wichita will be one of 319 such meetings in 81 cities of the continental United States.
