An attorney who practices with the McAfee & Taft law firm has been named assistant dean of admission at the law school of Oklahoma City University. Bernard Jones, who specializes in labor and employment law, as well as products liability litigation, will assume the OCU position on Sept. 2.
Prior to joining McAfee & Taft in 2006, Mr. Jones worked as the litigation associate with Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, LLP, a law firm in Columbus, Ohio.
He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the William J. Holloway Jr. American Inn of Court.
Mr. Jones volunteers at the KIPP Reach College Charter School, and is a member of the government relations committee of the American Cancer Society.
While an undergraduate student at Southern Methodist University, Mr. Jones served as president of the student body, and was the recipient of the John L. Freehafer Memorial Award.
At the law school of the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Jones was a law fellow, served as president of the Black Law Students Association, and was a member of the moot court trial team.
