A 38-year-old man died of a gunshot wound early Saturday morning after he was shot at the Boots & Saddles Club (at NE 23rd and Bryant Streets).Alvin L. Arterberry was found dead in a car involved in a wreck at the northwest corner loop of NE 23rd Street and Lincoln Boulevard.
Ludie A. Ingram Sr., 50, the suspect in the case, was arrested at his home (2013 Washington Blvd.) at about 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
Early Saturday morning, police responded to a report of a shooting at the Boots & Saddles Club.
Sgt. Paco Balderrama, a spokesman for the Oklahoma City Police Department, said officers arriving at the scene were told that a shooting victim was being transported by a private car from the nightclub to a hospital.
Minutes later, Sgt. Balderrama said, other officers observed a vehicle wreck involving a car that, apparently, had taken the north exit off NE 23rd Street on the loop leading to Lincoln Boulevard.
In the vehicle, officers discovered Mr. Arterberrrys body.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives believe that Mr. Arterberry had originally gotten into an argument with Mr. Ingram at the Eldorado Club (NE 23rd Street and Missouri Avenue).
The suspect followed Mr. Arterberry to the Boots & Saddles Club, Sgt. Balderrama said.
Witness information led to Mr. Ingram being identified as the suspected assailant, the police department spokesman pointed out, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Policemen arrested Mr. Ingram at his home at about 11:15 a.m.
He is being charged with first-degree murder.
