In ‘Chalk Circle’
Omoze Idehenre stars in a revival of “the Caucasian Chalk Circle,” a play by Bertolt Brecht, that is being performed at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. The play is about corruption, compassion and survival amid the chaos of war.

Orchestra and Sutherland Featured in Mozart Series
BARTLESVILLE--The Amici New York Orchestra and Robin Sutherland, the renowned pianist of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, will be featured during the OK Mozart Spring Concert Series.

The concerts will be performed during a tour that will include Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Bartlesville.

At Museum
SHAWNEE--Kalinka, the Russian musical duo, will perform at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art of St. Gregory‘s University, 1900 W. MacArthur Dr.

In addition to that performance, Kalinka will perform at Horace Mann and Pleasant Grove Elementary Schools in Shawnee, and at Cross Timbers Elementary School in Tecumseh.

Sergey Vashchenko performs on the balalaika, a traditional Russian three-stringed instrument, and Vladimir Kaliazine plays the bayan, a Russian five-row chromatic button accordion.

Fortner Begins Recital Series
DESOTO, Texas--Madelyn B. Fortner, an aspiring opera soprano, has begun a recital series and will audition today before an Oklahoma City University voice instructor.

The recital series will include Miss Fortner’s performance of a variety of opera renditions and jazz selections.

She auditioned today before Vicky Kelly, a voice instructor at OCU.

Miss Fortner said she is considering attending OCU.

She has studied under renowned voice teachers Barbara Hill Moore, Earline Vincent and G. A. Clay, and has studied piano under Thelma Franklin Merrick.
