We’re your best local information source
Welcome to Your Community Guide for 2002.

The guide is designed to give you a wealth of information about your community. It is something you will want to keep and refer to often as you make decisions for yourself and family.

Your Community Guide is a supplement, but our daily Idaho Press-Tribune is your daily must-have guide to the community, the important issues, the daily goings on and special events that make the Treasure Valley so rich.

We also explore issues critical to improving the quality of life in Nampa and Caldwell as well as the surrounding communities that make up Canyon County. But we do not stop at the county line. News from Ada County also is part of our daily report because we know that many local residents work and shop in the Boise area.

We are the only local media organization that dedicates the majority of its staff to providing local news for you.

But we are more than a newspaper. We like to think of our product as a “use paper.” We gather information with hopes of giving you useful information before you have to search for it. Schedules, local calendars, news about local communities, a complete daily stock report, an extensive high school sports and local college sports report and more.

You will also find a daily outdoor report at the back of the Sports section that will guide you to the best fishing hole, update you on the latest hunting gear, and show you where you and your family can enjoy Idaho’s great outdoors.

This year, we have premiered two new monthly sections designed to help you even more in your everyday lives. “Your Health” and “Your Home” are published monthly to provide a more in-depth report on those critical issues.

“Your Health” covers a range of health topics — from fitness to medical care — from a distinctly local perspective. “Your Home” gives you a wealth of information about improving your home and garden, as well as ideas to help you make the most of your leisure time at home. Again, it is geared toward Idaho’s families and interests.

The Idaho Press-Tribune also believes strongly that a newspaper should be especially supportive of events that improve the cultural life of our communities. The newspaper is a major sponsor of several entertainment events.

We are excited about an expanded editorial board that represents our diversified population and includes up to five community members. This editorial board meets weekly to shape the opinions and help generate a lively discussion — often solution oriented.

If you want to publish something in our paper, you will find our staff very accommodating. We have a brochure to help you with news items that do not require a reporter. We also have a form you can fill out on our Web site: www.idahopress.com. We can mail the brochure to you if you call the newsroom at 467-9252.

Local home delivery is very affordable to stay involved, in touch and in tune with your community.

If you have problems with your delivery or you would like to start a subscription, please call 467-9252 or e-mail Subscriber Customer Service at subscriberservices@idahopress.com.
