Retired Senior and Volunteer Program
Members of the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program offer their services to various nonprofit organizations in the Treasure Valley.
Respite care programs benefit as volunteers sit with terminally ill persons so the principle care-givers are free to run errands. Volunteers also work to help people understand insurance forms.
In the Adopt-a-Senior program, Retired Senior and Volunteer Program members are utilized as a buffer point so that senior recipients in the program can remain anonymous.
These senior volunteers help with bulk mailing, usher at the Idaho Center and Nampa Civic Center and work at libraries, schools, hospitals and senior centers.
The ECHO program benefits as RSVP members help out daily with calls to check on shut-ins. Senior volunteers choose how and when they would like to help the community.
America Reads program is where seniors go into the schools and help children first through third grades learn how to read.
The RSVP center is located at 411 E. Hawaii Ave. For more information or to volunteer, call 466-8982.
