FormArtist is a desktop software package that enables business users to create visually rich web forms and surveys without the need for technical or HTML specific knowledge. Surveys and forms are created using a PowerPoint-like WYSIWYG interface. A wide range of data collection objects and form design features encourage high response rates. It's easy to use and starts at only $49.

Surveys can be published using MyWebPal’s servers or your own servers and can be linked right from your website. We have worked with the makers of FormArtist to assure that forms can be tightly integrated into your newspaper site. The one drawback that we see to this software is that it is only available for PCs. Of course, the surveys themselves can be accessed from either PC or Mac, but in terms of survey creation, it must be on a PC. If you are a Mac-only shop, but are in need of a survey, MyWebPal also offers survey creation and launch services.

For the very small cost, this program is quite a powerhouse. Intelligence can be built into surveys and forms using either a simple dialog-driven script manager or by writing JavaScript directly to interact with the form. This allows dynamic form behavior such as page-skipping, custom validations and other logic to be incorporated. Optional question response and page sequence randomization ensure that FormArtist meets marketing research standards for eliminating sample bias. Data and survey tables and graphs can be exported to formats including Excel, HTML, SPSS, ODBC and more.

So if you're looking for a program to collect and publish reader research, customer and employee surveys, web forms, HTML forms, polls and any form of electronic data collection, this one may be just the ticket.

All MyWebPal newsletter readers can enjoy a free trial of the software. Click the link at the bottom of the page to receive your free 14-day trial.
