Back by popular demand, the Oyster Supper will be hosted by the Rotary Club on Fri Apr 9. This year, the event will be held in the Middle School all-purpose room with sittings at 5:30pm and 6:30pm. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under. Proceeds will benefit the Rotarys various local community projects.
On the menu: freshly fried oysters, ham, green beans, potato salad, coleslaw, rolls, coffee, tea, iced tea, and to-die-for cheesecake.
The Boroughs oyster supper tradition dates back to the days of the Haddonfield Grange. Bill Garwood, the chief chef in those days, is now the Rotary Clubs most senior member. At age 90, he continues to oversee the preparation of the oysters in order to ensure perfection.
