The Philadelphia Inquirer has reported that the parents of a Haddonfield Memorial High School student have filed a federal lawsuit challenging the school district's "24/7" drug and alcohol policy.
Legal action was taken after a 15-year-old student was arrested on an underage-drinking charge. That triggered action by the school district under its 24/7 policy that would have led to suspension from extracurricular activities and mandatory counseling and community service.
The suit claims the policy is unconstitutional.
