Haddonfield's boys' and girls' cross-country teams finished fourth and eleventh respectively in the NJ Tournament of Champions held on Saturday (November 21) at Holmdel.
Don Bosco won the boys' team competition with an average time of 16:25.80 for the 5k race. Haddonfield averaged 16:38.00.
Jonathan ("Boo") Vitez finished fifth in a field of 179 runners, with a time of 15 minutes 42 seconds. The winner, Joe Rosa of West Windsor-Plainsboro North, set a course and meet record, breaking the 15-minute mark by four seconds. Rosa's twin brother, Jim, finished second.
Hillsborough won the girls' team competition with an average time of 19:38.00. Haddonfield averaged 20:29.40.
Marielle Hall finished third in a field of 179 runners, with a time of 18 minutes 17 seconds. The winner, Chelsea Ley of Kingsway, recorded 17:56.
