Treat yourself to an evening of music while helping a local family. Tenor Donald Braswell, a finalist in the 2008 season of Americas Got Talent, will host a fundraising concert at Haddon Township High School on Sat Nov 28 starting at 7:30pm. Proceeds from the event will be used to help fund ongoing medical care for Sara Ann Kronrot, a five-year-old Collingswood resident with profound cerebral palsy.
Sponsored by the Haddon Fortnightly, the evening will begin with several short classical pieces performed by William Stokking, a retired principal cellist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Stokking will be accompanied on piano by his wife, Nancy Stokking.
Braswell will perform Broadway show tunes, popular tunes, and one or two classical works. He will perform duets with soprano Melissa Perry, Sara Anns mother. Perry is a professional singer and voice coach. Braswell and Perry will be accompanied by Sara Anns father, professional pianist Hugh Kronrot.
An after-concert reception will include an array of refreshments and an opportunity for audience members to meet the artists.
Lucky winners will leave the concert with raffle prizes.
