Two aging bulletin boards downtown have been replaced, thanks to the work of a Troop 65 Eagle Scout candidate.
The boards, outside the Acme supermarket and The Corner Bistro, have been used by community organizations to publicize their activities and events. They were installed and maintained by the Civic Association.
Rain and pinboard don't mix, however, and over the years the boards have deteriorated.
Enter Eagle Scout candidate Riley Sheehan, of Troop 65 at the Methodist Church. Riley designed and manufactured two new boards, complete with clear plastic doors. With the help of three friends, he installed them last weekend.
Riley estimates that the project has took 100 hours to complete.
