Georgia’s Business and Housing Expo tour is coming to Calhoun on Saturday, June 13.

The state is hosting Business and Housing Expos in cities across Georgia to bring business, homeownership and government resources together to share information about federal/state and private economic development tools and other available resources.

The purpose is to encourage individuals and businesses to invest and/or continue to invest in Georgia’s economy, said Leamon Scott, the DCA’s Northwest Georgia regional representative.

It is aimed at small business owners, entrepreneurs, home buyers, Realtors, bankers and local governments, Scott said.

The Calhoun seminar is set for 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Gordon campus of Coosa Valley Technical College. Registration is free but pre-registration is recommended. To register, visit the http://www.dca.ga.gov/ DCA’s Web site and click the Expo logo on the home page’s upper left hand corner. Detailed participant registration information is available online.

“Consider attending the Expo if you need state or federal assistance with housing, small business or government-to-government services,” said Scott.

“Georgia has always been a ‘can-do’ state. In rosy and gloomy economic times, Georgians have worked together to develop innovative solutions that keep our economic engines running.,” Scott said. “Today, as we deal with down-sizings, bankruptcies, foreclosures and other challenges to our state’s economic health, we must engage and take actions that will prepare us for future opportunities.”
