Donations

Meeting

The South Carroll Special School District Board of Education will be meeting in regular session on Thursday, November 19, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at Clarksburg School Library.

Meeting

The Carroll County Board of Public Utilities meeting will be held on Thursday, November 19, at 2:30 p.m. in the office of the Carroll County Electric Department, 103 W. Paris Street.

AT&T

AT& T Telephone Pioneers-Paris Life Member Club will meet Thursday, November 19, at 11:30 a.m. at Mallard’s Restaurant in Huntingdon for their regular monthly meeting. Plans for our Christmas party will be discussed. Call Martha Williams 986-4515.

Carroll County Emergency Volunteers will hold an organizational meeting on November 19, at 10 a.m. in the Carroll County Office Complex conference room.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21

Breakfast Fundraiser

Carroll County District 8 (Mixie) Fire Department will be having a breakfast fundraiser November 21, from 6 a.m. until 12 p.m. We will be serving pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, toast and drink for $6 all-you-can-eat adults and $3 for children 6 and under. W.O.W. Meeting

The Woodmen of the World Lodge 445 and Youth Lodge 1118 will meet Saturday, November 21, for their Thanksgiving meal. We will vote on officers and merging the Youth Lodge with the Adult Lodge. All members and guest are invited.

Christmas CarouSALE

The Huntingdon Schools Relay Team will be having their first Christmas CarouSALE on Saturday, November 21, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Huntingdon Middle School gymnasium. Vendors will have an assortment of items to sell such as Christmas decorations, etc. Beth Moore Photography will be set up to make Christmas pictures. Cakes, pies, candies and concessions will also be sold.

Pageant

McKenzie Lion’s Club Hometown Christmas Pageants will be held on November 21 and 22 for ages newborn-21 years. All pageants will be held at the Dickie Fine Art’s Building located on the campus of Bethel University in McKenzie. Thanksgiving Dinner

The Westview T.L.C. Community Center will have their 13th annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, November 21, starting at 5 p.m. Adults $7.50 and children $3.25. The RSVP singers will be singing at 5:30 p.m.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22

Gospel Singing

There will be a gospel singing and country dress day at Calvary Baptist Church on November 22. Preaching will begin at 11 a.m. followed by lunch and singing at 2 p.m. The church is located 6.5 miles east of Huntingdon on Hwy. 70.

Thanksgiving Service

There will be a community Thanksgiving service at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Trezevant on Sunday, November 22, at 5 p.m.

WC Alumni

West Carroll area alumni meeting will be held on November 22 at 2 p.m. at the Atwood City Hall. All persons interested in helping with the 2010 reunion is encouraged to be present. Call Don Farmer, 731-234-8411.

Meeting

The local Northwest TN Economic Development Council board will hold a public meeting on November 24, at 9 a.m. to elect an alternate representative of the poor to serve on the Board of Directors. Bake Sale

The Evans Clinic Relay for Life Team will be having a Thanksgiving Bake Sale on Wednesday, November 25, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Evans Clinic. Everyone please come by and buy your Thanksgiving dinner dessert from us. Let us do your holiday baking for you!

Christmas Assistance

McKenzie Carroll County United Neighbors is now taking applications for Christmas assistance. You must have an ID, Social Security card for at least one adult in the household, and proof of address. Applications will be taken until Wednesday, November 25, at noon. Call 352- 0547

Christmas Concert

There will be a Christmas Concert Thursday, December 3, at 7 p.m. at West Wood Pentecostal Church, West Wood Street in Paris. America’s favorite one handed pianist, Brian Arnold will be the featured singer.

Singing

New Crossroads Baptist Church will feature “The Spurlocks” from Linden on December 6 at 6 p.m. for the first Sunday singing. Bro. Dennis Lunsford is the pastor.

ABC Survival Class

Lydia’s Closet

Lydia’s Closet, located at Eastview Baptist Church on the east bypass in Huntingdon, is now open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon. If there is an urgent need, please call the church office at 986-3168. Lydia’s Closet exists to help clothe those in need of assistance.

Right To Life

Carroll County Right to Life meets each third Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. The public is invited to come to our meetings. Please come!

Carroll County E911

The Carroll County E911 and Emergency Management Agency have teamed up to provide an important service to our citizens. Many of you have installed storm shelters and safe rooms. If you provide us with some basic information, we will have emergency services check your shelter following a tornado in your area. Trees or other debris may cover your entrance. To be included in the program or if you have questions please contact CCE911 at 986-8911 or EMA at 986-1912. We also want to remind citizens to get your replacement 911 address markers at the 911 Business Office at 101 Dillahunty Lane in Huntingdon (across from Baptist Hospital). There is no charge for the marker.

Congregate Meal

The Elderly Nutrition Program is looking for persons 60 years of age and plus to start a congregate meal. If you are interested or want more information contact Melinda Quisenberry at 625-2219.

American Flags

For a $25.00 annual donation the Bruceton Lions Club puts up and takes down a full-sized American flag on the street in front of various homes and businesses throughout the year. The proceeds from these donations help support the annual Christmas basket project. Contact Carmion Fuhrman at 586-2236 or any other Bruceton Lions member.

Volunteers Needed

The Outback Victims’ Assistance Program, operating under Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council, a non-profit agency serving Carroll, Henry, and Weakley counties in the Northwest Tennessee region, serves victims of crime with an emphasis on domestic violence and sexual violence victims.
