We opened Mirador Community Store in 1999, wanting to make the connection between personal, community and planetary health and our shopping habits. We consciously are trying to offer items produced locally, regionally, US made or Fair Trade whenever possible.
For one’s kitchen, the products include a good selection of gadgets, cookware, New Wave water filters and some harder to find items like Excalibur food dehydrators, tools for sprouting, juicers, and everything one needs for food preservation. Lots of glassware for food storage, bakeware and healthy lunch kits such as Laptop Lunch are great for all ages.
For the bath & bedroom, there are pillows from Holy Lamb and Serenity Systems, 100% organic cotton blankets by Organic Weavers and organic cotton sheets by Coyuchi. There are shower curtains that won’t off gas and include those made of cotton, hemp and pack cloth in various colors and organic cotton towels by Coyuchi and bamboo towels by Bamboo Moon.
Book & videos selections cover topics such as Vegetarian, Vegan & Raw food preparation, Hiking, Gardening, and Sustainable Living. We also rent out videos on these subjects. Customers will also find eco-office products, yoga mats and tools, gift items & greeting cards and many other products that give shoppers a sustainably produced option of an everyday item.
Mirador also offers a gift registry for special occasions such as wedding or commitment ceremonies.
