The 49th Annual Fiddlers’ Jamboree at Holladay School could not have had a more perfect day. The sun was bright with a cool breeze and the crowd was bigger than ever.
Other than the delicious food, the highlights of the Jamboree are the parade and the music competitions. Holladay Fiddler Festival participants were treated to a display of three Apache Helicopters as they performed an impromptu fly-over over the school grounds during the festival.
The winners are as follows:
Bryan House of Springfield, TN took first place in the guitar competition. 2nd- Rob Pearcy, Smyrna; 3rd:- Tyler Andal, White House.
Tyler Andal took first place in the Fiddler’s 19 & Over division; 2nd- Maggie Estes, Hopkinsville, KY; 3rd- Sarah Twiley, Hermitage. Kara Hall of Springfield, took first place in the Fiddler’s 18 & under division; 2nd- Hayden McGowan, Huntingdon; 3rd- Loren Miller, Mt. Juliet.
Bluegrass Banjo: 1st- Kurt Stephenson, Dyersburg; 2nd- Blake Ho

Ryan Holladay was able to spend a few moments at the Fiddlers’ Festival before meeting up with Ricky Skaggs in Jackson, where Skaggs and Ryan had a concert performance.
The Parade began with Susan Goodman of Waverly who represents the United Way of Benton County as the Grand Marshall. She is also a former Mrs. America. Other highlights of the parade were the Camden Central High School Marching Band under the direction of Holladay native Joseph Nichols; and Mr. & Miss Bluegrass- Derrick Hooper and Kristen Churchwell. Parade Winners are:
Horses: Parade Horse, Ann Bell; Showmanship- Ladies- Hanna & Kristen Latimer;
Showmanship-Mens- JR Bell; Best Dressed Horse & Rider: Alison Branch.
Antique Tractors: Robert French rote his ’60 John Deere and Po Polzin- G Allis Chalmers representing Benton County in the 2-Cylinder Club.
Best Antique Cars: 1st- 1956 Skyhawk Studebaker by Jack & Fay Holladay; 2nd- 1957 Ford drive by Fred Roach; 3rd- 1936 Ford driven by Ted Roach.
Honorable Mention: Dodge driven by the family of the late Mr. Guy Stokes, Honorary Grand Marshall Entry.
Best Decorated Car: 1967 Camero with riders Senior Citizen Center- Tommy & Audra Oatsvall- King & Queen.
Community Service Awards: Holladay Volunteer Fire Department; Benton Co. Rescue Squad, South 40 Vol. Fire Dept., Big Sandy Vol. Fire Dept., & TN Forestry, Dept. of Agriculture.
Most Unique Entry: The Cain Farm Mini Float covered Wagon by F.B. & Dorothy Cain and family.
Best Overall Float: Little Mr. and Mrs. Bluegrass, Justin Pierce, son of Joey & Lesley Pierce and Kristina Arnold, daughter of Keith & Karren Arnold.
