Snow Seekers plan day trips
The Delta Snow Seekers are looking forward to their first ride of the season, scheduled for Sunday, December 20, to Salcha. Members will have lunch at the Salcha Lodge before the return trip.
The first long weekend ride is scheduled for January 16-18 to Tolsona Lodge.

Huskies win inaugural game on new rink

After years of work, the Huskies high school hockey team was ready to play the Su-Valley Rams last Friday in the first game on the new outdoor rink. The rink funds had been acquired, the plans made, the ground had been cleared, the foundation built, the boards put up, the lights installed, the ice made, the lines put down, the ice zammed, and finally the rink shoveled because it snowed several inches before the game.
On game night, Delta hockey fans were in a festive mood as many watched the game from the warmth of their cars parked around the rink and others braved the six below zero

Huskies take conference title in volleyball

Going into the Aurora Conference Tournament last week as the middle seed, the
Huskies had a reasonable chance of reaching the state tournament. Winning the
conference title was also a real possibility.
We had beat everyone in our conference at some point during the season, said
coach Corey Sloan.
In Thursday afternoons matchup, fourth seed Delta took on No. 5 Eielson,
winning the match in four games 25-23, 27-25, 16-25, 25-21 and
advancing Delta to the winners bracket and a matchup with first seed
Glennallen.

Delta Rifles down Lathrop in weekend event
The Delta Rifles hosted the Lathrop team in a MAC Conference match November
7 at the Delta Sportsmans Association Range.
In the smallbore event, Delta fired a 2220 while Lathrop posted a 1657 out of a
possible 2400. Deltas score is believed to be a new high school state team

Four Delta Husky football players received All Conference recognition for their
play this 2009 season. Josh Bialik received Honorable Mention at defensive
end and First Team All Conference at tight end. Justin Hitman Hjelm also
received First Team honors at defensive back. Eathan Gebauer was selected to
the Second Team All Conference both as an offensive guard and as a long
snapper on punts. He also received Honorable Mention for middle linebacker.
