Broken pipe damages elementary school
A fire alarm at Delta Elementary School alerted firefighters and school maintenance staff to a broken waterline in the school Sunday afternoon. Firefighters arrived at the building just as maintenance personnel were arriving to conduct a welfare check on the building. A leaking pipe in the fire suppression system in the school caused the fire alarm to activate. Honor Roll Breakfast

Since 2004, the local Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), in part with funds donated by the Delta area Chamber of Commerce, sponsors a fall breakfast for first quarter honor roll students. Dighton is the current President of the local PTSA.

Six more inducted into junior honor society
Fort Greely Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society inducted six new members at a recent ceremony. New inductees (from left) are Shana Wilburn, Bethany Solomon, Jessalyn Reiter, Thea Levinson, Krista Enderle and Arthur Edgren. The five lit candles represent the five attributes and standards expected out of members.
Fort Greely Middle School inducted six new members into the National Junior Honor Society November 12 at the Delta Junction Community Center. Teresa Rains, music teacher at FGMS, initiated the Fort Greely Middle School Honor Society last year. The school ended its 2008-2009 year by inducting 13 students into the prestigious organization. This year, the school year started out by welcoming six new members. New inductees are seventh grade students Arthur Edgren, Krista Enderle, and Shana Wilburn, and eighth grade students Thea Levinson, Jessalyn Reiter, and Bethany Solomon. The same ...
