Winter of 2008-2009 brought the Delta Junction area endless days of sub zero temperatures. After an extended fall, Delta has been spared those bone chilling temperatures. But, Delta's luck ran out Thursday night when the cloud cover moved on, the stars came out and the temperature plummeted. However, not to fret. Temperatures are expected to warm up by Sunday.

Karla Brown is a walking machine. After spending two and a half years walking across the United States, she is now embarking on a journey that will take her from Prudhoe Bay down to Argentina.
It all started after a successful recovery from surgery. Growing up, Brown suffered from multiple epileptic seizures. The 21 pills a day she was taking did not control them, so she finally checked into a hospital in Washington State. Walking out the door, she never experienced another seizure.

H1N1 flu vaccine available in Delta
The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services is continuing to receive H1N1 flu vaccine from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on a weekly basis. The state then redistributes the vaccine throughout the state.
