The Mid-Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking nominations for the Salute to Heartland Heroes Dinner, a program that honors the courage, caring and commitment of individuals and groups in the community.
Nominations will be accepted until December 31, 2009.
We want to you think of your hero. Someone who has made a difference in your community by going above and beyond to inspire or help others, said Dennis Eller, executive director of the Mid-Illinois Chapter.

The Citizenship award goes to an individual or group who displays leadership and dedication to a greater cause. The Service award is given to a health-care, military or public safety professional who has gone above and beyond to answer the call to service and the Youth Courage award is given to youth under age 18 who has shown personal bravery or devotion to a greater cause.
