Dorothy Marie Evert died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at North Florida Regional Medical Center of a lengthy illness. She was 80.
She was born in Trenton, NJ. She moved to Ft. White 18 years ago from Levittown, PA. Mrs. Evert was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Naomi Glover; a son, Thomas L. Evert Jr.; and a granddaughter, Elsie Marie Adams. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Thomas Leroy Evert Sr. of Ft. Winford Alfonso Howell, age 98 of Alachua, Fla., died Tuesday morning, November 10, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family members.
He was a much loved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. Mr. Howell was born on January 13, 1911 in Baxley, Ga. to John and Matilda Harrell Howell.
He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, LuGladys M. Howell.
He was retired from the University of Florida as a Supervisor III, Building Services Department, J. Hillis-Miller Health Center.

Virginia P. Abbas of Newberry, Fla. passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009 in Gainesville, Fla. She was 77.
She was born in Pennsylvania on June 1, 1932. Virginia was a graduate of the Clarion State University in Pennsylvania. She worked as a librarian for the University of Pittsburgh and retired from the Wappingers Falls School District in New York, and volunteered for the Alachua County “Friends of the Library” in Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Patton Abbas.
