Biosphere 2: a vibrant desert destination
Biosphere 2 was named a wonder of the world in a new book published by Life.
The Biospheres intriguing history and new programs lead by the University of Arizona combine to make it a local wonder.
With all the local contributions made to the project over the years, its something we can be proud of.
The Biosphere has been in the news many times in its over 20-year history. It has been at times praised and criticized.
Despite criticism aimed at early Biosphere 2 missions valuable lessons were learned during its experiments.

Brian Romero and Cisco Curry placed first and second, respectively, in the 9 and under age group in the X-Box Tournament held this weekend at the Mammoth Public Library. Ashten Borrego and Chris Lawler placed first and second, respectively, in the 10 and over age group in the X-Box Tournament.

‘Spiritual Food’ served at Oracle First Baptist Church . . .
The First Baptist Church of Oracle has started a free food program. On the second Tuesday of every month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. you can have a free hot meal and take home food boxes containing produce, bread, canned goods and dessert items. Caring Ministries Inc. from Tucson provides a truck which picks up donated food items from Tucson merchants and delivers it to Oracle. The hot lunch is prepared by members of the First Baptist Church of Oracle. The program has been in existence for three months now and more people have shown up each time.
