It’s not unusual to find Hazel Kinder raising her voice and reaching her hands out in an effort to help others.

The local country singer and venue owner has hosted benefit concerts for veterans, for needy families, for worthy organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters. Just last month, a show at her Lighthouse Theater brought in nearly $2,000 to help ensure a better Christmas for neglected children receiving a second start at Butterfield Youth Services in Marshall.
