In a gathering Friday at the Post Theater, Fort Meade recognized the accomplishment of 13 Soldiers who were promoted within the noncommissioned officer ranks.The NCO Induction Ceremony marked the second time last month that Fort Meade has hosted an event focused on the post's NCO Corps. Father of earthquake victims finds solace in community

Army Reserve Sgt. Moise Larose places his hand on his son, Moise Fils De, 3, as he prays during a memorial service for two of his children, Willermine Deborah, 11, and Moise Philippe, 9, who were killed in the earthquake in Haiti. Moise Larose wanted to give his kids a better life, a reprieve from the grim poverty of their native Haiti.So after leaving active duty in 2004, Larose asked the mother of their two young children if the youngsters could move with him to Fort Meade, where he lived with his second wife, Marie, and their blended family.
