There are some who feel parts of Mammoth are a bit of a challenge or at least the desert around Mammoth is challenging.
Southern Arizona Desert Racing would like to promote its first desert off road, Baja style racing event in the surrounding area of Mammoth. Southern Arizona Desert Racing, LLC (SADR) is a for profit organization dedicated to a goal of providing high quality competitive racing events for trucks, buggies and UTVs (Utility Terrain Vehicles). Arnold Motors has sold its US 60 site to Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center for a brand new clinic for Superior. For decades in the town of Superior, if you were looking to buy or service an automobile, you needed to look no further than Arnold Motor Sales on Main Street or U.S. 60 at the west town limits.
Established in 1950 by D.V. Arnold and his son R.C. Arnold, the new and used vehicle dealership was THE place to shop for transportation through the years for drivers in the region.
A familiar sight on Main Street in recent years was the Arnold service department at the location where the original dealership opened. Later the business expanded to the U.S. 60 sales office.

Blown fuse leaves 1500 without power
APS customers in Kearny, Hayden, and Winkelman lost power Thursday starting at about 4 p.m.

Toe-biters teach students about the ecosystem of the San Pedro River
Have you ever leached copper with vinegar and then plated
it using a nine-volt battery? Although this experiment was originally designed
for a college prep or AP class, it was but one of many experiments third
through seventh graders participated in while attending College for Kids at Central Arizona College, Aravaipa Campus. While this process does not produce commercial
quality plating, it does give students the opportunity to study the chemistry
of purifying copper, in an area where copper mining is one of the main
industries.
