Former San Manuel resident Daniel M. Renteria has been arrested in connection with a double homicide in Tucson.
On Monday, March 1, at 11:07 a.m. Tucson Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 5300 block of East 25th Street. Two male victims were found at the scene with gunshot wounds.
Both victims died at the scene.
The victims have been identified as James J. Marschinke, 49, and Richard Rue Jr., 40.

Fire in Kearny
Smoke pours out the door of a residence on the 400 block of Ivanhoe in Kearny Saturday afternoon. Kearny Fire Department responded after several neighbors called to report smoke coming from the house and firefighters had to break down the front door to get to the situation. The exact cause is still under investigation but evidence points to an electrical fire that had evidently been smoldering in a back bedroom for some time filling the house with smoke. Smoke damage was extensive and a window had been blown out. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries. (Vicki Clark photo)

San Pedro Rd: will motor vehicle access be restricted?

Pinal County has settled a lawsuit filed by the Center for Biological Diversity, Maricopa Audubon Society, and Tucson Audubon Society. The environmental groups filed the lawsuit to stop dredging and filling of San Pedro Road at the San Pedro crossing in Dudleyville.
The crossing is located on a piece of property protected by conservation easement. It is also home to an endangered bird, the southwestern willow flycatcher.
