Rare White Buffalo Comes to Texas


An Oregon peacemaker says she was so upset by the apparent slaughter of a rare white buffalo calf here in Texas recently that her organization is donating a white buffalo bull from its herd to restore the hope taken from the Lakota Ranch. Arby Little Soldier, who owns the ranch near the North Texas town of Greenville where the calf was killed nearly two weeks ago, says he's excited about the 3,000 pound gift. Tour Bus Involved in Tragic Accident


Justin Moore's Tour Bus was involved in a tragic accident early Saturday morning, but Justin and his band were not injured. They're okay, but the man driving the car that smashed into the bus was killed. Here's what happened: The bus was making its way down Interstate 57 near Mattoon, Illinois, which is about 160 miles south of Chicago when it was hit from behind. Earthquake Shakes East Texas


Authorities say a 3.7 earthquake has shaken parts of East Texas. The U.S. Geological Survey says the tremor struck Thursday morning in an area between Garrison and Timpson, about 24 miles northeast of Nacogdoches. Gary Patterson of the U.S. Geological Survey in Memphis says survey geologists are baffled by the event. He says, "It's not where we normally see earthquakes in Texas." Timpson City Secretary Tanya Windham says she initially thought a nearby train had derailed and it "shook the whole city hall" for about 15 to 20 seconds. Gas Prices Going Down…a Little


A travel association survey finds retail gasoline prices have tumbled 7 cents across Texas this week. AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump fell to $3.61 per gallon. Prices at Woodville area gas stations has been slowly dropping, now showing at $3.65 on Thursday. Gas prices nationally also down 6 cents, reaching $3.74 per gallon. AAA Texas says crude oil prices have declined in the last week. The group's weekly survey finds the most expensive gasoline statewide is in El Paso, at $3.73 per gallon.
