Winter of 2008-2009 brought the Delta Junction area endless days of sub zero temperatures. After an extended fall, Delta has been spared those bone chilling temperatures. But, Delta's luck ran out Thursday night when the cloud cover moved on, the stars came out and the temperature plummeted. However, not to fret. Temperatures are expected to warm up by Sunday.

Karla Brown is a walking machine. After spending two and a half years walking across the United States, she is now embarking on a journey that will take her from Prudhoe Bay down to Argentina.
It all started after a successful recovery from surgery. Growing up, Brown suffered from multiple epileptic seizures. The 21 pills a day she was taking did not control them, so she finally checked into a hospital in Washington State. Walking out the door, she never experienced another seizure.

The Delta Snow Seekers are looking forward to their first ride of the season, scheduled for Sunday, December 20, to Salcha. Members will have lunch at the Salcha Lodge before the return trip.

After years of work, the Huskies high school hockey team was ready to play the Su-Valley Rams last Friday in the first game on the new outdoor rink. The rink funds had been acquired, the plans made, the ground had been cleared, the foundation built, the boards put up, the lights installed, the ice made, the lines put down, the ice zammed, and finally the rink shoveled because it snowed several inches before the game.
On game night, Delta hockey fans were in a festive mood as many watched the game from the warmth of their cars parked around the rink and others braved the six below zero
